Story of

Harley

LOOKING FOR HIS NEW HOME is “Harley” he’s a big fella and like all Akita’s needs a strong handler and someone who understands the breed,”Harley” needs to be an only dog, although I’ve walked him in public and his behavior was fantastic,”Harley” came to us when his owner tried but failed in securing accommodation that would allow large dogs,he is now eight but is very healthy and loves his walks,if you feel you may be able to offer Harley a home please email irishhuskyrescue@gmail.com with details of previous experience, home and family details
Please share and let’s find the handsome “Harley” a home.

Go Fund Me Project to Help Revitalize the Rescue

“It’s been a long, long wet winter and as a result we had to close off over half the rescue, stressful for the dogs and the volunteers who stuck it out despite the awful conditions.

We don’t have any benefactors and roughly take in less than €100 Euros a month in regular donations.  We stick to a strict food formula which cost twenty euros a bag, a lot of huskies have sensitive tummies.  From Christmas we took to the streets in Listowel, Limerick, Tralee, Cork, Galway that helped along with some generous individual donations we raised the vast amount of money needed to put the rescue back together, along with an operation on a cat that cost 1200 Euro.  The operation was carried out in Cork by Gilabbey Vetenary Practice.

It really did seem like we would never get there and there’s still a lot to do but, we are well on the way to getting things some way right. There’s a lot of people to thank and in due course I’ll get to it but I’d like to thank the hundreds of people who we have recently met around the country who without there donations no matter how small, medium or large made the regeneration possible.  Dry, clean, spacious runs make for happy dogs!”

Thanks again,  Maurice, Volunteers and All the Animals at Sera.

Bruce

Bruce

This is a little bat,one of my favorite animals,he was brought to our vets this morning,i was in visiting Goldie,it was attached to a fly screen, these little things are so fragile trying to peel its wings off the sticky fly paper was a job,i got both wings off intact and then gave it a bath which again is no easy thing to do,ive since given him another bath and if he survives he’ll probably need another, that stuff is awful and trying to clean tracing paper wings is the one of the trickiest things my shovel like hands have had to do in a long time, hes been under gentle heat lamp and likes hes glucose drink so fingers crossed he(we’ve named him Bruce) will pull through and he can get back to his bat cave
